Zuhair Murad is a Beirut-based Lebanese fashion designer.

Biography

In 1995, Zuhair Murad opened his first atelier in Beirut and not long after has established a very high reputation in the international fashion scene. What began as a mere hobby soon turned into an empire of unique sophistication and revered fashion. "Ever since I was a child, I used to imagine designs for imaginary clients. I have always loved to work in the word of luxury and design...As my country in well known for its natural beauty...that expertise...made me fall into the world of haute couture," Murad has said. Zuhair Murad's lavish creations, in sensational colors and extraordinary fabrics, are reminiscent of Egyptian princesses, Grecian goddesses and pure, glorious splendor, complete with an edgy twist that modernizes his collections just enough.

Zuhair Murad's extensive lines encompass haute couture, ready-to-wear, accessories and eyewear. Plans to expand the fashion line are underway to include beauty products, perfumes, swimwear and lingerie as well as furnisher.

Two boutiques (including showrooms) have been established. The first in Beirut on Charles Helou Avenue and the second on rue Francois Ier in Paris. A showroom is also present in Milan on rue Borgogna.

Zuhair, although still relatively new in the scene has already dressed the likes of Carrie Underwood, Ivana Trump, Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Lopez, Kellie Pickler, Shakira, Katy Perry, Christina Applegate, Vanessa Williams, Ana Ortiz and many more. Miley Cyrus was seen wearing one of his creations at the Academy Awards, and most recently Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez wore his creations at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.
He also designed miss France's dress Chloé Mortaud for Miss universe 2009 and 5 dresses for the final of Miss France 2010.
