Selma Blair (born June 23, 1972) is an American actress. After
numerous supporting roles in the 1990s, she starred in the film Cruel Intentions
and the short-lived TV series Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane in 1999. She has since
had notable roles in Hollywood feature films such as Legally Blonde (2001), The
Sweetest Thing (2002), and Hellboy (2004). Selma Blair also plays the titular
role of Kim in Kath & Kim, a remake of the popular Australian sitcom of the same
name.
Biography
Selma was born Selma Blair Beitner in Southfield, Michigan, the daughter of
Molly Ann, a judge, and Elliot Beitner. Selma Blair has three older sisters,
Katherine (a book publicist), Elizabeth, and Marie. Selma attended Hillel Day
School, a Jewish day school in Farmington Hills, Michigan and Cranbrook
Kingswood school in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
Selma Blair attended Kalamazoo College in the great state of Michigan, then later transferred to the University of Michigan, where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1994.

After training at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting, Selma began acting in
a few small roles during the early 1990s. Selma Blair starred in the film Cruel
Intentions (1999), opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar and Reese Witherspoon, and won
the "Best Kiss" category at the MTV Movie Awards with co-star Gellar. Selma went
on to star as Zoe Bean in two seasons of TV series Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane
(1999-2000) on The WB network. In 2001, she again worked alongside Witherspoon
in the film Legally Blonde. Selma then took the role of Liz Sherman, a
pyrokinetic human in the 2004 film Hellboy, and again in the film's 2008 sequel,
Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Selma played the wife of Greg Kinnear's character
in the film Feast of Love in 2007.
Selma was married to Ahmet Zappa from 2004 to 2006. She filed for divorce in
2006, citing "irreconcilable differences". In the past she has dated actors
Jason Schwartzman, James Caan and model Matthew Felker. Selma is now known to be
dating Mikey Day, her costar of Kath & Kim.
