Biography
Mark Wahlberg first came to fame as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the New Kids on the Block. After his brother's bubblegum
pop group ended, Mark began recording as Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch, earning hits with "Good Vibrations" and "Wild Side"
from Music for the People (where he poses with a Saab 9000). His
second LP, You Gotta Believe, was a relative failure. He was seen
most prominently in a series of underwear ads from Calvin Klein, and
would drop his pants as part of musical show. He then began an
acting career, earning positive reviews. He is currently producing
the series Entourage on HBO which is loosely based on incidents from
his own life.
Mark has admitted to having been a hard drug user. When he was 16,
he injured a Vietnamese man and went to jail. Wahlberg denied that
the crime was racially motivated.
