Erica Durance was born in Calgary, Alberta, and grew up in Three Hills, Alberta.

In 2004, she guest-starred on The Chris Isaak Show, Tru Calling, Andromeda, Stargate SG-1, and The Collector. However, she is perhaps best known for her role on the WB series Smallville as Lois Lane.

Erica Durance was a frequent guest-star for the fourth season of the show (2004-2005), and joined the regular cast for the fifth season (2005-2006).

In January 2005 Erica married actor David Palffy. The couple live in Vancouver.
